Out of the Depths
Psalm 130 takes us on a journey from the depths of sin and despair to the heights of hope and redemption. In this sermon, we walk through the psalm’s movement of cry, confidence, craving, and call, discovering what it means to honestly bring our sin before God and find mercy in Him.
When we are overwhelmed by guilt, shame, or the weight of our failures, our instinct is often to hide, deny, or distract. Yet Psalm 130 invites us to do something radically different: to cry out to the Lord. Why? Because with Him there is forgiveness.
This message explores the beauty of God’s grace, the call to wait on Him with hope, and the promise of His steadfast love and plentiful redemption. Ultimately, Psalm 130 points us to Jesus Christ, who entered into our depths so that we might be lifted into forgiveness and new life.
